Arts Network: Archive Workshop & World Mental Health Day Event
This collaborative project between King’s College London, the Young Foundation and Arts Network, a Lewisham-based arts and mental health charity, explored themes of identity and legacy through creative archiving.
Members engaged with Arts Network’s archive to create new artworks using both traditional and digital methods, while sharing oral testimonies responding to the question: “What does Arts Network mean to you?” The workshops culminated in two public moments: the unveiling of a mosaic bench at Wildcat Wilderness for World Mental Health Day, and the screening of a short documentary, Shared Ground, at Arts Hub in Lewisham.
The project leaves a lasting legacy. A new tablet has expanded Arts Network’s digital creative offer, the bench stands as a permanent symbol of community collaboration, and the documentary supports future outreach and fundraising. The work has also sparked interest from Lewisham Heritage, opening pathways for continued archival development and partnership.
