Diasporic Syrian Heritage in London with Hikayetna – Our Story, 2023

The event was co-designed with Hikayetna – Our Story, a London-based non-profit organization dedicated to uniting the Syrian community through art, culture, and empowerment, and hosted at the Levant Cafe in Park Royal, a hub for the Middle Eastern diasporic community in London.

The event was structured in three segments: a heritage workshop led by a young Syrian artist, musical performances, and a culinary experience, each highlighting tangible and intangible aspects of Syrian heritage. It fostered meaningful engagement with the Syrian community in London exploring concepts of cultural heritage and identity within the contexts of migration and conflict and established a network of individuals passionate about cultural heritage.
